about the artist

Rebecca Ackerman is a multimedia artist currently based in the Carolinas. Her work investigates themes of place, nostalgia, familiarity, and the divine nature of creation. She uses both photography and ceramics as primary languages to communicate these themes. Her work has been recognized in publications such as Carolina Muse’s literary and arts magazine, The Ivy Leaves Journal, and Res Historica. Her work has also been featured in galleries, including the Bascom’s Emergence Exhibition, SE Center for Photography, Blue Ridge Arts Center, and Black Box. 

She will graduate from the South Carolina School of the Arts in the Spring of 2026.
